Chinese Culture Center
Building Chinese Culture Center

The purpose of building a Chinese Culture Center is to provide a home for all Chinese, Chinese- Americans, and their friends in Central Illinois. There are about 10,000 Chinese-American, Chinese students and graduate students in Champaign-Urbana areas. This accounts for about 10% of total local population. A center to be called home for this large group of Chinese is extremely important not only from the standpoint of benefiting our members and friends, but also from the elevation of our status and forces in the community.

Our primary goal for this Center is to promote and encourage cultural exchange, to provide a platform for CAACI to organize various activities, such as annual banquet for Chinese New Year party, annual Autumn Festival, and various sport and fitness activities for the well-being of all Chinese and residents in Champaign County.

The Center will be a multi-purposes and multi-functional building at about 14,000ft2 (about 1500 m2 ) with full capacity of large gathering for banquets, basketball, volleyball, ping pong, dance, Chinese classrooms, and art and library.

The cost of building this Center is enormous, estimated about $4 million. Because our organization is a non-profit organization and our current incomes are mostly from our memberships, we greatly appreciate donations from our members/friends and community organizations. We are especially grateful and thankful to the donors from corporations, foundations and business owners .

This Center may be named after major donor who contributes at least 70% of the total construction cost. Specific units inside the Center may be named for the donors who contribute Center of $100,000 or more. All other individual donors’ names are be recognized and posted in the wall of Center entrance.

Please help us to make this dream come true by donating to our specialized account – China Center Development Foundation. Thank you!
